Himmelsruh was designed from the outset as a sustainable and nature-orientated residential complex. Sustainable living does not only refer to the building, the living area or the use of high-quality and pollutant-free materials. Rather, an organic living space was created here in which people can live in harmony with nature.

The residential complex, built to the KfW Efficiency House 55 standard, consists of two buildings above a shared underground car park. A total of 18 condominiums with three different typologies have been created. Spacious penthouses and well-proportioned 4- and 2-room flats offer families as well as singles and couples attractive living spaces, with balconies in front offering wide views of the green surroundings.

We have revitalised the previously underused, attractive hillside plot with its mature trees through balanced inner-city redensification and created high-quality living space in a park-like setting. The two houses on a shared plinth are partially built into the slope. The staggered heights from three to four storeys reflect the topography. The central square with an open staircase between the buildings provides access to the flats and serves as a communicative meeting point for the residents.

Cantilevered balconies and terraces break up the restrained, cuboid shape of the building. The dark green painted façade is structured by the uniform grid of large windows and sliding doors, whose bronze-coloured frames create attractive accents. A sustainable, efficient energy concept complements the well thought-out planning of this residential complex.
