In Innsbruck's Pradl district, we built the new, modern residential neighbourhood "Living in the Park" with 118 rental flats and 53 condominiums. The car-free complex is designed as a sustainable passive house and is located in the centre of a new public park.

An elongated block protects the property from the impact of the busy road and separates the commercial area from the residential area behind it. Behind it are three staggered buildings with five, six and seven upper storeys in a park that takes up more than half of the entire site area. This arrangement - a closed, built-up front facing the street and solitary buildings behind - adopts the characteristics of the heterogeneous development of this neighbourhood.

The façades have no vis-à-vis, the views are varied and the lighting is optimal. On the garden side of the ground floor, communal rooms and flats with terraces open out onto the park. Loggias and balconies extend the flats outwards towards the park while maintaining intimacy for the residents. The staggered heights, materiality and positioning of the loggias facing Andechsstrasse transform the closed frontage into a varied, lively, urban street space.
