21 flats instead of a detached house
Where there used to be a detached house, we have built 21 flats on the 2,400 m² plot. The three cube-shaped structures of the residential complex on the outskirts of Feldkirch blend harmoniously into the loosely built-up neighbourhood. The individual quality of living and the relationship to the landscape were key aspects of the planning.
We achieved the optimum ratio of built-up area to living space primarily through the shared central access platform for all three houses. This also allowed us to preserve the old trees and a large part of the existing garden. This was also a condition of the previous owner for the sale of the property.

Dark wood and exposed concrete
he three buildings house a total of 21 flats on three floors each and are constructed using a mixed construction method: Exterior walls as timber construction, foundations, access and intermediate ceilings made of reinforced concrete. The dark glazed wooden slats on the façade and balcony balustrades contrast effectively with the exposed concrete surfaces of the access zone in the inner courtyard.

Inner courtyard as a meeting zone
The well-designed 2 to 4-room flats are accessed via a shared green and covered inner courtyard, which also serves as a meeting zone for residents. This enabled us to reduce the traffic areas and create larger but affordable residential units for families. Large elliptical openings in the distribution platforms bring light and air into the inner courtyard and offer attractive views of the surrounding mountains.

High-quality equipment, affordable prices
Private gardens, cantilevered balconies and terraces offer generous private open spaces. High-quality fittings such as solid oak parquet flooring and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors are not at odds with the affordable prices for families.
