Campus on a children's scale
The up-and-coming Alsatian municipality of Lingolsheim, just six kilometres from Strasbourg, is a popular residential area for young families. A new kindergarten, a sports hall and the expansion of the elementary school create the best conditions for the care and development of children. The multifunctional building for extracurricular care forms the heart of the campus – a place for meetings, education and leisure with a permeable ground floor, a green inner courtyard and a wide-open staircase that invites you to linger. Covered galleries connect the rooms and offer a variety of views and insights. The low buildings are grouped around generous open spaces and blend in well with the loosely built-up neighbourhood. The multifunctional building brings all areas together to form a campus.
Natural design
Wood is omnipresent, both in the supporting structure and on the façades and interiors. Natural materials and attention to detail help to create a place of learning where people feel at home. The surrounding open spaces are designed to be as close to nature as possible, with rain gardens, clearings and trees as well as numerous opportunities for play and recreation.
Play, learn, do sports
The kindergarten and elementary school are adjacent to the multi-purpose building, surrounded by green break areas. The existing elementary school will be retained and extended. We have placed the sports hall to the north of the kindergarten, slightly set back. Thanks to the entrance on the street, the hall can also be used by clubs and residents for sports activities.
